The Prince Rupert
An enchanting pub in Newark, Nottinghamshire
The Prince Rupert pub is tucked away on Stodman Street, between the beautiful Newark castle and market square. In fact, the Prince Rupert is a real historical gem and forms a must-see stop on Newark’s Civil War Trail.
Originally built in 1452, the Prince Rupert is now an enchanting pub still full of history but boasting a menu of fantastic dishes and a perfect line-up of real ales and fine wines. The building still stands strong with its original timber frames having undergone a renovation with lots of KNEAD Pubs TLC for 18 months.
The results are incredible: a conservatory buzzing with pub hubbub, half a dozen of enchanting dining rooms, a terraced beer garden, a beautifully decked out bar and a hidden venue upstairs, which is available for private hire.
Not only that, but the Prince Rupert team is always organising one event or another: whether it’s our very popular open mic night, live bands on a Thursday or a not-to-be-missed beer festival! In fact, the Prince Rupert team is full of ale pros, having helped to found the Real Ale Collective of Newark (RACOON). That means all of our ales have been picked (and tried-and-tested) by the experts.
Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the Prince Rupert pub in Newark and enjoy one of our quirky or traditional dishes, including the famous stone-baked KNEAD pizzas. We would love to see you.
